Magpie

We were in Utah this past weekend. Our grandson was in the hospital with a nasty bug. He has Cystic fibrosis (we have three grandchildren with CF). While we were visiting, we had a visitor. What a beautiful Black-billed Magpie. I shot the 1st photo and Teresa captured the second.

The other photos .. well, grandma and grandpa loving on one of the grandchildren. I forgot to remove the mask. They allowed us to visit in the garden which is outdoors. I will not get into a discussion on the C word in this blog.

Hey, What A Surprise Find

This is a female Magnolia Warbler. What a surprise. They are only in this area when they are migrating. I wish I had seen a male too. I am so grateful for the opportunity to see this beautiful bird. ❤️

It had been a few weeks since either of us has photographed an American Goldfinch. That is sad .. so I'll make it right with these two captures from last week.

A Hungry Waxwing

One morning this past week we were hiking early. The temperature was lower than it has been, but it was crisp and beautiful. As we appproached the banks of the Stillwater River, we saw a large numbrer of Cedar Waxwings having a feeding fest on the bugs. I shot these photos. I love this species.

Hummingbirds

We were out early one morning this week. The birds were extremely active and I was in my element. I was pleasantly surprised to see this Ruby-throated Hummingbird. What a treat. We do not see them often, but this one was just a few feet away from me. So cool.

The funny thing: the next two days, we saw more hummingbirds. Both of these days we saw them at diffferent locations. One was along the Miami River. We tried, but we didn't get photos.
