A Focused Blue Jay

Adjustments.jpeg

I saw this blue jay while we hiked this week. I’m not sure what he was looking at, but he continued to check it out for several minutes. We were not that far away. Blue Jays are normally loud. His attention and focused was intense and accompanied with total silence.

The Trapeze

Adjustments.jpeg

These photos were taken on two differnet days this past week. This Red-bellied Woodpecker seems to like this feeder. I figure he was in training for the circus, maybe as a trapeze.

What A Gorgeous Creature

Adjustments.jpeg

While hiking this week we saw several cardinals. This is the best of the photos we managed to capture. I love the blue backdrop and then this beautiful cardinal. He is just stunning.

The Migration Happens

Adjustments.jpeg
Adjustments.jpeg

Over the past 3 days, we have seen many migratory birds. Red-winged Blackbirds, American Goldfinch, and others. I am always frustrated when I can’t get ‘that’ shot. You know, the perfect photo. This week has been like that. I finally managed to capture a photo of a Red-winged Blackbird.

The moon photo ... well, it was 3:00p, and the sun and moon were both as big as life. I could not resist.

Keeping An Eye On The Enemy

Adjustments.jpeg

I caught these two mourning doves on a cold winter afternoon as they were relaxing on this branch. No, I don’t know how to tell the boys from the girls.

What you can’t see is the red-tailed hawk that is about 20 feet away from this spot. If I were a small bird, I would sure be nervous. They were relaxed, or at least seemed to be.
