“Nothing To See Here .. “

Adjustments.jpeg

I captured this photo of this cardinal last week. Sometime you will find then on the ground .. but they are in trees most often. This one was casually strolling around at the base of this tree .. I could almost hear him saying, “Nothing to see here. Move along”.

This was not an easy photo. Too much extra stuff for the camera to get a good focus. I still love a cardinal photo.

Quiz Time ..

A quick quiz: male or female?

Adjustments.jpeg

In case you forget, this is a female Downy Woodpecker. The key is the red markings on the head of the male. The second photo is a male.

Inverted Feeding

Adjustments.jpeg

I caught this nuthatch grabbing a quick snack. I am amazed at how they climb. I mean I find them upside down on tree limbs most of the time. This is a fun photo!

Snow and Early Signs Of Spring

Adjustments.jpeg

The Tree Sparrow is very common, and they are very active right now.

Accross the region we are seeing signs of the migrating birds staritng to show up. I am so ready for spring, and the return of ‘color’. The snow in this photo sure didn’t look like spring.

Swamp Sparrow?

Adjustments.jpeg

I think this is a swamp sparrow. It is hard to telll, but it sure looks like it to me. The fact is, the swamp sparrow, and the song sparrow look alike (to me).

I shot this photo near a fishing pond. Nearby, there is a ‘swampy’ pond that the geese frequent. This is the right habitat for the swamp sparrow.
