A Different Eagle Home

Last Saturday we attended a funeral for a husband and wife that did not survive a car accident. (It was a sad loss). On the drive to the service, we saw this large nest just north of Covington, Ohio. I was sure I saw an eagle in the tree too.

On the way back home, we stopped and took a better look ... sure enough it's an eagle nest. We drove back early the next morning and where I took this photo. There is two young eagles in there too.

It has been a while since I photograpned a Red-shouldered Hawk. I loove how he looked back at my direction without moving his body.

Young Eagle

We visited Garby Big Woods yesterday. We didn't see much, but on the way home we saw a beautiful Red-tailed Hawk. Sadly, we were not able to capture a photo.

As we crossed a bridge over the Miami River Teresa saw and captured a photo of this Bald Eagle perched over the river. I think this one recently molted. It must be about 4 years old so it will be looking for a mate sometime over the next year. How exciting.

One Large Nest, One Beautiful Eagle

I captured this Eagle as it was flying near their nest. I did not see the mate, but I think it was down in the nest. For some prespective the second photo shows the nest with the same eagle to the right. This is one very large nest.
