What an odd place to see a Tundra Swan. There was actually three of them in the middle of this field .. now water, just these three swans. I am sure they stopped on a long flight north.

When I saw this bird I thougt it was a House Finch but I was not able to take a photo. A few minutes later I had a second chace. Now i am fairly certain it is a Purple Finch. Some info to compare the two: House Finch or Purple Finch? Here’s How to Tell Them Apart.

It feels like spring has truely arrived. I am extremely happy about it. We are still getting lots of rain, but that is normal for this time of year. We will be seeing a lot more variety of birds soon.
