A Couple

It is farily common for us to see a cardinal at this feeder. Seeing both a male and a female at the same time .. more rare for us.

Welcome Back

What a wonderful surprise. We saw so many Red Admiral Butterflies this week. The weather stayed warm for seveal days and conditions were just perfect for them. I tried to count but there was just too many.

That was Monday. On Tuesday we had our first butterfly walk of the season and saw a few more. What a treat .. and in April.

Fly By

I was trying to capture a photo of a blue jay when this female Downy Woodpecker flew by. She parked on this nearby tree and became the subject of a few photos.

Nesting Blue Jay

We were just starting a hike when we saw this Blue Jay land in a tree over our heads. It turns out she was building a nest.
