The Family

I photographed this family a few months ago and forgot to share it. By now the young geese are much bigger and flying.

Still Here

The American Goldfinch is always one of the last birds to migrate. They are still active around here.

Drifting

The mallards were just drifting down the river. Sometimes even the ducks need to relax.

A Loss

You may wonder how these two photos are related. Cardinals are so special. I think of them when I feel down or when I experience the loss of someone close to me. I think that is even more true as I take more and more photos of this beautiful bird.

The second photo is Teresa and Roxie about 13 years ago. We were excited to have a new puppy in our lives. Roxie .. what a wonderful dog. Sadly, we lost her this week. She was suffering and it hurt to watch. It hurt to say good bye. This post is just my way of expressing my love to a wonderful friend. Love you Rox.

Pole Hopping

This Red-tailed Hawk spent some time playing a game of pole hop with us.. We would stop in the road to take a photo, he would take off, fly a couple poles down the road, land, rinse and repeat.. Very funny.
