Halloween?

This is a Halloween Pennant. It is a dragonfly, and a skimmer. I love this description from Wikipedia:

The Halloween pennant has been described as looking very similar to a butterfly. Its wings are entirely orange-yellow in color with dark brown bands, the Halloween inspiration for its common name. Dragonflies of its genus perch at the tips of plants, waving in the breeze like pennants. The young has yellow markings, including a stripe on its back. The adult male and female may develop pale red markings, especially on the face. This species is about 38 to 42 millimetres long. It is orange.

Very cool!!

Tigers

I love this Eastern Tiger Swallowtail. We have seen a couple of them this year, but have not been able to capture a good photo. The top photo is really decent, but I had a few issues with the second shot. It's still great. This is a female. She is stunning.

Summer With Chip

This little guy is a Chipping Sparrow. I don't see as many of them, but this one gave me enough time to capture this photo. It is summer and time if going by so fast. I am starting to see signs of fall but we still have several weeks of heat left.

Less Is More

I have said this before, but I find the Field Sparrow to be the most curious of the sparrows. They are even a little bold at times. And they are such a small bird .. I guess less really can be more.
