Heron She Is

This is a classic. We were between hiking locations in my car. As we drove across this small creek, Teresa starting making a lot of noise and waving her hands. She was so excited but I had no idea why. As it turns out this beautiful Great Blue Heron was doing some fishing in this small creek. What a beautiful bird. She took both of these photos. It was great.

Not Mockingbird Today

Another first for 2022 .. a Northern mockingbird. I usually hear mockingbirds before I see them, but not this time. Maybe it was too cold to sign out.

Nut Focus

I did not have to take a long hike to get this photo. This little guy was in a tree in the neighbors back yard. I love how this photo came out. He was there for a long time with total focus on a nut.

Phoebe

This is the 1st Eastern Phoebe I have seen this year. I think there was more than one, but they would not stop long enough for me to track. Now let's get some warm weather for more than a day.

Spring On The River

These photos were both captured this past week. The top photo is the Miami River, just south of Piqua, Ohio. It was realy cold that day, but we hiked a little The bottom photo is the Stillwater River. It was still chilly, but warmer. We are just starting to see budding trees. I am excited to see more green and mow the grass.
