Early this spring shortly after they hatched.

We have been watching these geese since they hatched this spring. Now they are getting to be as big as their parents. We have no shortage of geese around here.

Team Meeting

When I see one Cowbird, I usually see several. Just an observation, but maybe they are holding a team meeting.

Couples

The next time you see a male cardinal, just wait a while and watch for his mate. They are usually nearby. I love watching them and how they seem to care for each other. It's cool.

Be You!

Double-click to edit...

Yes, this is another photo of a Field Sparrow, but its a photo of THIS sparrow. Much like each individual, it is unique. It is not just the nice depth of field, but the details in the sparrow, the branch .. it all makes for the uniquness of this sparrow photograph.

We are each as unique as this sparrow. That is powerful to think about. Don't compare youself to others .. just be the best 'you'. Have a great day!

Great Spangled What?

Double-click to edit...

I do not recall every seeing a Great Spangled Fritillary before. Yes, that is what this beautiful creture is, and it is a large, beautiful butterfly.

As I said, this butterfly is large, like a swallowtail. Wikipedia says that their wingspan ranges from 62 to 88 mm (2.4 to 3.5 in) (wikipedia. Sure a beautiful butterfly.

Neither of us have photographed one of these in the past. Teresa had a more direct shot, but also had some blades of grass in the shot. She took the 2nd photo. I shot the top photo, but at an angel.
