The Colors Make This Photo

This Red-winged Blacbird was only 10 feet away from me, so this is a great photo. The lighting was not perfect. It was a very clear day, and the sun position relative to me and my camera was not perfect, but I love this photo. The colors are wonderful.

Young, Green Heron

I love how this young Green Herons image is reflecting in the water. He is not very old. In fact, I am sure this is one of two that I photographed earleir in the spring in the same spot. The second one is sitll around too, and is in the photo to the right.

Gnat Catching

This is a blue-gray Gnatcatcher. Yes, it’s just a small flycatcher. I would like to have my own flock of these birds to accompany me when I am walking the bike path ... sometimes there are these large xx of gnats, and I really don’t want the extra protein. I would be happy to let the Gnatcatchers feast on the gnats.

More Time With Butterflies

On Monday of this week, Teresa and I started the day with a hike along the Miami River, then spend some time at Garbry Big Woods. Later that day, we joined the Butterfly Walk (I always say hike) at Stillwater Prairie Reserve. This video captures some of what we saw.

It’s a Baby Shower

Over the past few weeks, we have seen a many new baby geese. This photo was taken at Stillwater Prairie Reserve at the large pond near the entrance. There was even more of them further to the left of this shot. The babies are not so little any more.
