Woodpecker Convention?

I can’t get over how many woodpeckers I am seeing this year. Maybe I am getting better at looking, or I am just in the right places. I seem to see them every place I go right now. Maybe there is a Woodpecker convention?

Take a Mulligan

A few days ago I posted a photo of a Red-winged Blackbird. That photo was not up to my standards, so I’m posting two more that I find more to my liking. Beautiful birds. Enjoy the weekend.

A Sparrow Waiting for a Friends

Bird activity has been better this week. As the temperatures moderating, we should continue to see more activity. By mid-month we should see warblers. Many other species should be arrive before the end of the month. It’s about to get really exciting.

A Hiking day!

We saw this small squirrel while hiking yesterday. So cute. It is rare to get a good photo like this .. at least for me.

We created a new video. Most of the photos are from our hike yesterday, but there are some from other places this past couple of weeks. Its a shorter video this time.

Early Signs of The Spring Migration

I took this photo yesterday. I have been hearing the Red-winged Blackbirds for the last week, but I have not been able to locate one to get a photo. This was not a great shot, but he was there, and this is what I could get. I am sure that over the next few days I will see a lot more of them. They are one of the 1st birds to show up here in the spring.
