Downy :)

This is a downy woodpecker. They are very common in this part of Ohio and they don’t migrate. I didn’t see very many of them until later Fall, but now they seem to be everywhere I hike. Cool woodpecker!

Those beautiful waxwing

This is another shot from early this fall. There was dozens of these Ceadar Waxwings at Stilwater Prairie Reserve on that fall day. They are such a beautiful bird.

Snow, Santa and Christmas

To those that celebrate the day, I wish you a very Merry Christmas. May your day be the best. We had a full house for Christmas Eve. I love the look in a child’s eye when gifts are about to be opened. There is also an excitement when Santa is around. I took the photo of Santa at the tree festival in Utah early this month. The photo is from a few years ago. It just all fits together on this Christmas Day. Enjoy your day.

Mallards ... Burr

I saw this pair of mallards in the Miami River this week. It was so cold. I am glad it was them in the water and not me. Burr

Ruffled feathers

Another photo from earlier this summer. I believe this photo was taken at Garby Big Woods. It was windy, and her feathers were ruffled. Nature is not always perfect:).
