One very yellow butterfly

FullSizeRender.jpg

This photo is from our last butterfly walk (hike) of the season. I love this dudes eyes. This is a Sulfur butterfly - very yellow and beautiful. ❤️

The video today is a little different (I think I say that too often). This video was shot indoors at the wonderful Festival of Trees in Sandy, Utah. Funds raised at Festival of Trees are a “A Gift of Love” to children at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. This hospital has done so much for my granddaughter and the family. She has Cystic Fibrosis, and the doctors and nurses at Children’s Primary have been a big help in difficult times. If this holiday season is not your thing, then please, don’t watch this one.

I could not believe all the trees. Amazing. Enjoy!

First real snow

FullSizeRender.jpg

We had our first real snow of this season .. you know, where there is a slight snow accumulation. The rivers and streams have not started to freeze, but there was just enough of the white stuff to make it interesting.

More Red Heads ... 🥶

Just before I saw this Red-bellied Woodpecker, I saw a couple Hairy Woodpeckers. Wait, maybe that was a pair of Downy Woodpeckers. Sadly, I didn’t get a photo, and I may never know.

Even the birds are cold ...

FullSizeRender.jpg

Teresa and I took a short hike along the Miami River just north of Piqua yesterday. It was COLD. I was surprised to see a larger number of American Robins. They were very active, likely trying to stay warm.

I expect to only get one video this week. We may get a second one this weekend, but we will see. It really depends on the weather, and our schedule. I will still get a photo up every day!

Have a great week, and stay warm.

Fall? That’s over.

FullSizeRender.jpg

This photo is from Kiser Lake State Park. I took it about 5 weeks ago. The colors are interesting, especially with the blue water as the foreground for the beautiful colors.

There is something wrong with this photo. I think there is a twig from a tree hanging into the field of view. I’ll never know .. I still love the photo.
