A Sunrise .. 365 days later

I love the sunrise. This photo is of a past sunrise, but every sunrise means so much. It was a year ago today that I underwent robotic surgery for prostate cancer. It seems like forever ago. I wrote more about my feelings on my other blog. I can express the feelings and emotions I have felt this week. It’s great to be able to share in this Thanksgiving day. Be grateful and hug those you love today.

Pileated what?

We saw this Pileated Woodpecker last week on the same day that we saw so many other woodpeckers. I had a hard time getting a good photo because of where he was hiding. Truly one of the most amazing woodpeckers, mostly because of his crown.

Jumpy woodpecker

The woodpeckers have been very active for the last two or three weeks. They have also been very hard to photography. This one was over the Miami River. We saw more, but only managed to get this photo. More woodpecker photos to come.

Bare trees and two rivers

Before the snow and ice hit this week, Teresa and I took a short scenic drive / hike around Miami County. The trees are mostly bare. We stopped along the Miami and Stillwater Rivers, and at a few of our other favorite stops. The video below is a recap of what we saw.
