Disturbing the ducks

FullSizeRender.jpg

As you walk along the bike path near the Great Miami River, you will often find ducks and turtles in the algae. These two were just trying to find some quiet time ... then I showed up with my camera.

I understand the value of some peace and quiet, away from the ‘busy life’, so I took a few pictures, and left them to enjoy the quiet time they were seeking. Try it!

Snow, Snow, Snow .. soon enough

Utah State Capitol Building - Salt Lake City

Utah State Capitol Building - Salt Lake City

It was a cold December 2014 morning, and the snow was falling. We were in Utah to visit family for the holiday. I remember taking the side roads into Salt Lake City. It was dark, and the snow reflected the lights creating this beautiful landscape photograph. Snow is among my least favorite things, but it really works in this photo.

I heard it may snow in Utah today, so I thought this is the pefect photo to share. Stay warm.

Lazy river

I took this photo last February. I have share this before on facebook or instagram .. but I figured it was a good day to share it here. I took this early one morning before heading to the NAFEM show. This lazy River can be found at the Orlando Hilton.

Recovery report: My recover is going well. The surgery was on Wednesday, November 22, and I came home on Thursday. I have seven small ‘holes’ that the robot used to access my prostate. They were successful at removing it, as well as the nearby lymph nodes. I don’t have pathology report back yet, and don’t expect it for a couple weeks. Of course, I knew I had cancer inside the prostate from an earlier biosopy. The seven holes? Well, robotic surgey has so many advantages. Less blood loss, faster recovery, less infection ... I’m for all of that.

I have not needed the painkillers I was given, and have mostly used either Tylenol or Ibuprofen when I need to take off the edge. I’m walking about .7 to .8 miles a day, and hope to get that put to a mile today or tomorrow. A major milestone this week is the one week mark. I loose the cath that day. Can’t wait.

Enjoy your Sunday, and enjoy life.

Winter wonderland ..

This artwork is on the windows of the Piqua library (lower flower of the Fort Piqua Hotel). Great work! Here is another view (note the high water mark from the 1913 flood):

On a personal note: I have surgery today. See everyone on the other side.

We can do better

San Juan, Puerto Rico. February 2016

San Juan, Puerto Rico. February 2016

Puerto Rico has always been a beautiful place. Hurricane Maria devastated the island, and left so much  distruction. I don’t want to get into the politics, but the recovery efforts have been so slow, and millions have suffered. There is always two sides to every story, but I’ll share this link to get a few of the problems. We can do better!

Stay warm, and picture a beach, somewhere very warm!
