Fly Away

DSC_0013.jpeg

We saw these Mallards land, got excited for the photo opportunity, then they took off before we could get in position to capture any photos. Teresa managed to capture this photo as they flew away. Great colors.

Dude, Clean Up After Yourself.

DSC_2713.jpeg

I took this photo a few weeks ago while hiking along the Great Miami River. I can usually find a few geese hanging out long the river, but this was more interesting to me. Maybe it was the broken refletion. I really can’t say, but I enjoy photographing geese.

Now if I could just get them to clean up the bike path after they deposit all over it.

How About A Cold Swim?

IMG_2650.jpeg

Sunday afternoon we took a walk on the bike path along the Miami River. The geese were out in large numbers. I guess it was too cold to jump in the river or fly away:).

Goose Crossing

We see this scene frequently: a gaggle of geese crossing the bike trail. This was repeatred this week on two occasions while we were hiking. They were all relaxing and getting a snack on the hillside to the left in this photo ... until we came along. Then they lined up, crossed the bike path, and then one by one jumped into the river.

Mallards are very common here in Ohio. When the lighting is right, the colors of the male Mallard blow me away. They are beautiful.
