Lone Gull

We drove through a bird sanctuary the first day we were in Utah for this trip. This is the only bird I was able to photograph. This is a Short-billed Gull.

The drive was long, and we didn’t see much, but we were able to be with family that we do not get to see enough. That made it worth the drive.

Hummingbirds

This is a female Broad-tailed Hummingbird. We stopped at this roadside stop at the north end of Logan Canyon. It was a beautiful drive and the river runs alongside the road all the way. I didn't expect to photograph a hummingbird but there was a lot of them.

Gold .. As In Goldfinch

I was looking at this American Goldfinch but my mind quickly moved to noticing the falling leaves. The Buckeye trees are starting to drop their leaves already. Boo.

Oh, last observation ... look at the fly on his eyelid.

Bright Red On Green

This Northern Cardinal was flying around in the trees where we were hiking. I was struggling to capture a photo until he perched in this bush. I wasted no time capturng a few photos.
