This is a Red-headed Woodpecker. Yes, the red is gone. I think he (or she) was molting, but its a little late in the season for that. I still think its a red-headed woodpecker.

Two For One

DSC_3485.jpeg

Wow, one photo with two birds. The best part is they both are in focus.

From the top is a White-brested Nuthatch attacking the suet. From the bottom we have a Downy Woodpecker. They are both skilled at holding on to the wood stand. Cool.

It’s Just A Crow

FullSizeRender.jpeg

We watched this American Crow land in a nearby tree .. but I was driving down this country road and the shot was too long for Teresa’s lens. What to do?

No problem. There were no cars coming either way so I stopped the car, then capture this photo.

I love this black and white photo. Yes, its a crow, but nature gives us all kinds of birds.

All The Red

IMG_2960.jpeg

Demo test ing

While we were taking photos earlier this week, I was commenting to Teresa that it had been a while since we had photographed a cardinal. The very next day, while walking on the bike trail in Piqua (Piqua [Linear Park](https://piquaoh.org/parks/linear-park/)), we saw four cardinals ... all in one spot. All I had with me was my iPhone. I started snapping photos as I walked towards them. This came out really great. One female, and 3 males, al in one capture. Simply beautiful. ~ Rick

The Lesson Of The Dove

DSC_3398.jpeg

There is something very peaceful about a [Mourning Dove](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mourning_dove). All the other birds were flying around us, but this dove just sat there so peacefully. Perhaps it is a meditating dove. I know I find I feel better when I take some time to clear my head and be more mindful. I’ll call this the lesson of the dove.
