Big, Black Lion

DSC_3523.jpeg

Today’s photo is decided to my puppy that we lost this week to age. He was a large dog, but at 14 years old, his body just could not do it any more.

Why this photo? Well, I shot this in the back yard. The squirrel found this in the neighbors trash, then brought it over to hide it for future consumption. We watched him hide it, then a little later, watched as the birds found it. So much for storing food.

Rio has always had this thing about barking at anything that moved. He disliked cats, but if it moved he was interested in playing. He never caught a squirrel, but may have corned a cat or two. He was a rebel that liked to make aware that he was there. I never had a dog bark as much.

I will miss him. Life is a big circle .. it will continue, but I will always have a place in my heart for the big, black lion. (What one of my granddaughters use to call him).
