Fun To Watch: Difficult to Photograph

I am about 90% certain this is a Northern Harrier. I watched her for a while then tried to get a good photo. Sadly this was the the best photo I captured. I guess she was fun to watch but difficult to photograph.

Some Cabbage?

Its that time of year when you see those small, white butterflies in your back yard .. never stopping, but fluttering around. This is the Cabbage White or Cabbage butterfly. You don't see the detail when you see them flying, but this one stoppped long enough for me to get a good photo.

Ground Squirrel

It's not a bird .. it's a Ground Squirrel. We saw these at rest areas in Utah, Wyoming, and Nabraska. Cute but they sure make a mess of the landscape.

Tern Air Show

While we were in Utah, we went the Eccles Wildlife Education Center .. to see the wildlife (moslty water fowl). Many cool birds but I loved this pair of Forster's Terns putting on an amazing airshow. They make flying look so efforless and yet their skill is amazing.

Bright Yellow

We made a quick trip to Utah recently. We got a little hiking in during our stay. This is a Yellow-headed Blackbird. That yellow is was so bright. It was great to capture this photo.
