A Buckeye …

Wow, I saw this Common Buckeye butterfly while walking the bike path on Sunday. I love this species. This one looks funny .. not sure what happened in the photo but he was flying around fine when I saw him. I hope we see more of them this week.

Silver-spotted Skippers

We finally saw a few Silver-spotted Skippers. They do look like a moth, but they are a butterfly. Maybe they are not late but it sure seems that way to us. Better late than never.

Swallowtail

We saw this Pipevine Swallowtail, also referred to as a blue swallowtail while hiking this past week. What a beautiful swallowtail. I love the colors and it's size.
