Natures Pearl

I wanted to share these photos of a few Pearl Crescent Butterflies from last week. I just love butterflies.

A Little Blue

The Spring Azure is a very small, blue butterfly. I have heard them called an Echo Blue, Hill Hedge Blue, and maybe other names. The day I saw this one, I saw a couple more. This one was willing to park long enough for me to photograph.

Simple And Beautiful

This is a Cabbage White Butterfly. I think it is one of the most common of all butterflies. We see them in our yard, along the walks on the bike trail, and on long hikes.

The thing is, they never seem to stop long enough to capture a good photo. This was the exception. I shot this photo on a hike a few days ago. Simple and beautiful.

A Silver-Spotted …

This is a Silver-spotted Skipper. Actually, it is two different skippers, photographed on two different days. They are not the most attractive butterfly, but they are very cool. The pattern in the wings is very unique and really standsout.

A Friendly Butterfly

It was less than a year ago when Teresa photographed a Hackberry Emperor on my arm. He followed me and was my best friend for a while. (you can read that post from last August here: A New Friend).

On a hike this week the tables reveresed. We saw several Hackberry Emperor butterflies near the Stillwater River. Teresa is much sweeter than I am, and this one was all over her arm, legs, and even pants. It was certainly a friendly butterfly.
