Can You See Me Now?

If I didn’t tell you there was a Tufted Titmouse in this photo, you may not see her. Her colors match the trees well and it made locating her difficult.

It’s All Mine!!

DSC_3294.jpeg

I can hear this Chickadee: “All that good food and its mine!” I love to watch the birds come to the feeders to eat when its cold outdoors. It is January and for now, they will be visiting frequently. Sadly, grains are not good for you and me. Enjoy some protein today:).

Seeing Double?

DSC_0015.jpeg

No, you are not seeing double. Teresa shot both of these shots. The top was a pair of Red-bellied Woodpeckers, and the second photo is of a pair of male Cardinals. Capturing a photo of a single bird of this size at a signficant distance is difficult due to focus issues, but to get two, in with all the tree noise is extra tough. Well done, Teresa. ~ Rick *** Rick’s latest technology muse: *Check out our vlog, which includes more pictures and video on YouTube at [tales.photos](https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCFQDGQDunrIlKumTDIMUKwg). A Special Bird

As I mentioned a couple days ago, we have seen a large number of cardinals over the past few days. We hiked for weeks without seeing any of them, and then suddenly, they are everywhere we go. This is the same male in two different shots.

Wintering Sparrows

The sparrows are out in numbers this week. I don’t know how much they need to eat to survive this cold weather, but I am glad to be in a warm house.
