A Special Bird

As I mentioned a couple days ago, we have seen a large number of cardinals over the past few days. We hiked for weeks without seeing any of them, and then suddenly, they are everywhere we go. This is the same male in two different shots.

Wintering Sparrows

The sparrows are out in numbers this week. I don’t know how much they need to eat to survive this cold weather, but I am glad to be in a warm house.

Tree Hopping

While we were hiking this week I caught this Blue Jay as he was tree hopping. He kept moving from one tree to the next. I guess he was bored or just cold and needed to move around to stay warm.
