Indigo Bunting

Adjustments.jpeg

June 11 and I finally saw an Indigo Bunting. This is my 1st of 2020. I was beginning to think they were in quarantine somewhere south of here. I love this bird.

Made For Working On Wood

Adjustments.jpeg

The Northern Flicker is a very cool bird. This is a ‘medium size woodpecker’ with great colors! One look at that beak and you know its made to work on wood.

As you walk through the woods next time, listen close .. during nesting season they call out: “Peah”. (Sorry, best I can do).

Beauty From The Shadows

Adjustments.jpeg

Another very different photo of a cardinal. I saw him land in this tree not far from where I was standing. He begin to sing. It was beautiful: only matched by the brilliance of his color and the shadows created but the sun.

I did not expect to capture a good photo due to the lighting. I am delighted with how this photo came out. So much beauty in the shadows.

Enjoy the day!

The ‘Other’ Red Bird

Adjustments.jpeg
Adjustments.jpeg

Teresa captured these photos of a Scarlet Tanager during a hike this week. We both managed to get a few photos, but I think her pictures were much better. This is a male. The non-breeding males are more olive in color. The females are that same olive color, almost yellow.

Home Sweet Home

Adjustments.jpeg

Home sweet home ... Teresa shot this photo of this robin nesting last week. It’s not often that we find one in the nest.
