I shot this photo while standing on the Robert J Shook Bikeway Bridge. He walked out to the end of this dead branch, then walked back .. always keeping an eye on us. I just can’t get enough of these cardinals. THey are a beautiful bird.

My Best Side?

I have been trying to get a good capture of a blue jay for weeks. Every time I snap a shot, the Jay is facing away from me. The shot was better, but as soon as I lift the camera, they move so that they are butt toward me. What’s the deal?

Here are a few shots from the past few weeks above. I will keep trying.

A Surprise Find

Adjustments.jpeg

This is a first for me. This is a female Baltimore Oriole. I have taken many photos of males, but have never seen a female to photograph. I didn’t even notice until days later when I was editing photos. Nature is full of surprises.

The Grackle

Adjustments.jpeg

This beautiful bird is a ‘Common Grackle’. You can pick them out by their bright yellow eyes and the metallic purple sheen around their head. If you watch them you may also notice that they walk instead of hop like many other birds.

They migrate, so it was great to see one.

A Yellow Rump?

Adjustments.jpeg

I am about 90% sure this is a Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warbler. We saw several of them, but this is the only photos we were able to capture. We tried to get a better photo, but they were just too active.

Teresa took the top photo, and I shot the 2nd photo. I love the color pattern.
