Is That One Mine?

Adjustments.jpeg

This is a female Brown-headed Cowbird. I mentioned this last year, but cowbirds are brood parasites. They deposit their eggs in other birds nest. The cowbird eggs usually hatch before the other eggs, giving them an advnatage. That is some crazy nature stuff.

Oh So Blue …

Adjustments.jpeg

It almost always happens the same way. We are hiking and suddenly we see something blue flying across the woods. It appears to land in a nearby tree. I focus my camera and see this beautiful Eastern Bluebird.

This was one such opportunity to photography this male. I love the colors of the Eastern Bluebird. Need a say more?

Just A Robin

Adjustments.jpeg

Sometimes when I see an American Robin I think to myself, ‘it’s just another Robin’, and I walk on.

When I express gratitude for the opportunity to photograph a common Robin by capturing the memory, I am rewarded. How? The reward of simplicity, beauty, and a deep sense of peace. That is the reward of nature in all its beauty. Pause and take the shot!

Sing A Song

Adjustments.jpeg
Adjustments.jpeg

We saw this Warbler while hiking this week. I am not as good with warblers, but I am 90% confident this is a Black-throated Green Warbler. Yes, there is a lot of yellow, but the underparts are olive-green. You can see the black throat. They are singers too .. especaily during breeding season.

Three Jays Streaking

Adjustments.jpeg

I am not sure you can tell, but this is a photo of three blue jays streaking across the sky. Yes, streaking.

We often take an early walk on the Piqua Linear Park. I don’t usually take my large camera for these walks. Lately we have seen these Blue Jays on about every walk, but its been very difficult to get a good photo of them. On this particular morning, I captured them with my iPhone. HAHAHA. Just a fun photo.
