Nutty Nuthatch

We took a hike at Big Woods Sanurary on Friday evening (looking for owls), and again on Saturday when we could see. The surprise this time out was how many White-breasted Nuthatches we saw. We photographed a few .. cool bird. They look alot like woodpeckers, eating bugs up and down the trees. They do not migrate, so this was fun.

It’s cold up here

One last photo from our hike. This view is looking over the valley from our location about 4500 feet up the mountain. That is the Great Salt Lake in the distance. Makes me cold just looking at it:).

The color continues

This is another drone photograph. I was not flying very high, but this perspective is wonderful. I’m excited to get back out and take more fall photos, once this rain stops. In nature and landscape photography, perspective matters .. a small change in how you look at the scene can make a big difference. Life is kind of like that too.

Nature is the ultimate recycler. Teresa took those photo of this down tree while we were hiking yesterday.

Yes, it’s just a fallen tree. What does Mother Nature do ... make it home for fungus and other life.
