Flycatcher ..

FullSizeRender.jpg

I took this photo while waking along the bike trail along the river yesterday. I saw several species of birds with yellow and black colors. I believe this is a yellow-bellied flycatcher. The beak is too long for it to be a finch. It could be a warbler, but it is too small.

The birds were super active and very loud. Here is another view of this one:

At peace with nature

FullSizeRender.jpg

I could sit in this spot for hours. The birds were singing loudly. The squirrels were playing games in the tree tops. Every so often the geese, and sometimes a duck or two would fly by. This lowers my blood pressure by a good 10 points.

Sometimes you need a place like this where you can be at peace, and be inspired. I hope you can find your magic place where you can be inspired.

Northern Flicker

FullSizeRender.jpg

I took this photo a few days ago, but I was struggling to identify this one. A shoutout to my friend Dyna for identifying it as a Northern Flicker. This is the only photo I was able to take, and it was very hard to find due to how well the colors match with the trees. I guess that’s the idea:).

Blue Jay

I have taken several photos of Blue Jays, but they have never been very good. They seem to be avoiding me:).

This is the best blue jay photo I have been able to take .. ever.  It appears to be a younger jay, but he was open for a great photo. He seemed to enjoy playing with the string that was in this tree.

Withing minutes, a Baltimore Oriole showed up. They had a little spat. It was cute. The Blue Jay left the area, and the BO just camped out. There was a third bird, but I didn’t see what she was.

Trees .. and Trees

FullSizeRender.jpg

I think I could create an album of nothing but trees. I love this one ..

I took this photo at the Stillwater Prairie Reserve. This is one of my favorite spots to photograph. I highly recommend a visit!
