It’s been a while since I last photographed a Painted Lady Butterfly. Though this one has weathered some damage, she remains absolutely beautiful.
Teresa took this photo with her phone. Good photo.

The Monarch

This beautiful monarch seems to be keeping its true splendor a secret. While the most breathtaking view is surely with its wings fully opened, this hidden perspective offers a rare, quiet glimpse into its world.

Pearly Eyes

We spotted this Northern Pearly-Eye Butterfly while hiking early this week. It has so many eyes, it probably saw us coming from three miles away—and judged our hiking boots the entire time!
