Some Cabbage?

Its that time of year when you see those small, white butterflies in your back yard .. never stopping, but fluttering around. This is the Cabbage White or Cabbage butterfly. You don't see the detail when you see them flying, but this one stoppped long enough for me to get a good photo.

Small, Beautiful Butterfly

I think this is a gossamer-winged butterfly. I thought I was photographing a spring axure. Either way, it is a small but beautiful butterfly.

More Early Butterflies

Teresa and I both captured photos of Eastern Comma Butterflies this week. I shot the top photo on one hike, and Teresa photographed the other one on a different day, and at a different location.

For more information see the photos at Butterflies At Home. The markings are really interesting so follow the link to understand how to recognize the difference between the 'comma' and 'question mark' butterfly.
