Bottoms-up!

We took a nice hike at Englewood MetroPark yesterday. I loved watching these ducks. They were really having a good time grabbing some breakfast. The video below had more photos and video from our hike.

Just a Hairy dude ..

This is not a perfect photo, but I love it. He was not easy to spot, but I love this photo. I believe this is a hairy woodpecker, but feel free to correct me if you don’t agree.

This is the video we posted yesterday. We hiked at Taylorsville MetroPark again, but this time at the North and South location. Enjoy

Hanging around with this Northern Flicker

We saw this northern flicker while hiking near Vandalia last week. Not all Flickers migrate, so maybe this one is hanging around for winter. I am hiking less with my long, heavy lens now that I am seeing fewer birds. I was glad I had it with me on this hike.

Check out my eyes ...

You have to love those eyes ... such an intense gaze. I took this photo while we were hiking at Taylorsville MetroPark. To be honest, I was surprised at how many birds we saw. Now back to foliage.

These fearless mallards

I took this photo of these mallards while we were hiking yesterday. This is one of the better shots I have of Mallards in a while. I was afraid my drone flight, or the noise of us trying to get in position for a good photo may frigten them. Nothing .. they stayed put, shared their beauty, and seemed fearless.
