This photo is from our final drive through the Virgin River Gorge .. for this trip. Teresa drove and I took photos this time. There is not many places to stop, and so much beauty. The road, I-15, winds through the mountains, crossing the river several times. I love this view, and could do this drive over and over.

It has been cold and we have had some snow this week here in Ohio. I took a drive on Monday evening, accompanied by my camera. Not far from town I saw what looked like two birds in a scuffle. As it turns out, one of them was this young Broad-Winged Hawk. I suspect the other one was a Field Sparrow or Winter Wren. There was a lot of activity with smaller birds trying to feed, and I assume the hawk tried to pick one of them off. I caught this photo as the hawk was retreating.

The Miami River has been partially frozen this week. Temperatures were well below freezing, and the river looked really cool. Yes, it is winter!
Personally I’m doing a lot of brewing too. No, I’m not in the ‘brew’ business. Brew as, “in to contrive, plan, or bring about”. More soon enough.

One of the best things about driving while Teresa is with me is that she takes great pictures, and lots of them. We had just left Springdale and were heading to St George. Teresa capture several great photos, including this one.
This photo makes it look like the road goes right into the mountain .. or under it. Great photo.
