A Swim, Breakfast and a Tan

Teresa capture this turtle out for a morning swim. On the other side of the Miami River, we saw these three turtles looking for breakfast and some sun.

Help, I’m stuck 🐢

public.jpeg

I am not sure how this turtle ended up in this place, but I suspect the log either moved, or the water level dropped. The river is significantly lower over the past 24 hours.

The second turtle may be in the same spot. They love the hot sun.

More Time With Butterflies

public.jpeg

On Monday of this week, Teresa and I started the day with a hike along the Miami River, then spend some time at Garbry Big Woods. Later that day, we joined the Butterfly Walk (I always say hike) at Stillwater Prairie Reserve. This video captures some of what we saw.

Hidden Life

DSC_4309.jpeg

I think I took a dozen photos of the barren desert. There is something about this view that I really love. I think it is knowing that the dirt is alive .. what looks devoid of live is so very alive.
