Flowering beauty

The Honolulu zoo is located adjacent to Wikiki Beach. The have all the wildlife you would expect from a zoo, and also the most amazing plant life. For a time, you forget where you are and just become totally emerised in the vibrant colors and variety. It’s kind of amazing.

I took several photos of this flowering beauty there. I am not a botanist, so I can’t tell you much about it, but I can tell you this: Simply gorgeous.

Where did summer go?

First, this picture ... October, 2015. This shot was taken from the balcony just outside our room overlooking Wakiki beach, Honolulu (on the south shore of the island of O’ahu). I had already taken dozens of photos of sunsets, then Teresa walks out on the balcony and takes this amazing photo. I think it was the best picture of our trip. Me, I was talking a nap. 

Now summer .. where did it go. It was so cold yesterday. I had to find a photo that reminded me that summer will be back! Then again, maybe we should go to summer.
