Rain, where it rarely does

After over 1200 miles driving in Utah, we headed to Las Vegas for CES and our return flight to Ohio. What we didn’t expect was rain. Locals in Vegas told me it had not rained in 4 months. There was significant local flooding.

The photo about was taken my Teresa on our drive into Vegas from St George. It was raining on and off. The rain didn’t slow us down much.

The GIF to the right is something I captured from our Uber on the drive to the convention center. A sample of the flooding.

Peaks and valleys ... mostly peaks

We are about to wrap up a very good trip. We saw mutilple state and national parks, and took so many photos .. I really don’t have a count. I have plans for the next couple of trips, and I am so excited.  

This photo was taken as we left Zion National Park. I love the peaks and the color. We saw so much color in the rocks and mountains across southern Utah. Then we drove through a national forrest. Nature is so diverse.

There is color in those rocks

Teresa took this photo, as I drove from Zion National Park to St George. She was able to capture the color bands in the rocks, something I had trouble with most of the week.

A different rock

As you drive through southern Utah, the geology and even the foliage changes frequently. This is a photo from Bryce Canyon. Amazing view, and unforgettable.

Zion National Park

This photo is from Zion National Park. The park is large, and a series of large rocks. It’s beautiful. We spent the evening at a Marriot Springhill Suites .. the view here is stunning.  We spend some time at Bryce and at Zion. Both parks are beautiful, but unique. I think I could spend a day or two at each of them.
