In the clouds

Teresa took this photo just south of Provo, Utah. I love the thin layer of cloud cover over the mountain range. ❤️❤️

The focus of the buffalo

FullSizeRender.jpg

We drove out to Antelope Island earlier this week. I am still trying to figure out this lone buffalo. Isolated from the rest of his friends, he was in this position for a long time, at least as long as we were at the park. Perhaps there was something really good to eat in this spot.

How is your focus? In this Twitter, Facebook and Instagram world, it’s hard to focus. Sometimes it’s best to turn it all off, and work for 25 minutes or so. Reward yourself with some time online (just not all day), then repeat. It’s called the Pomodoro Technique. I have heard several versions of it, but they all work the same way in general. I just like to reward myself after a period of intense work.

As for the buffalo, I think his technique to focus on chewing for 2 or 3 hours before taking a break. Or, maybe he’s testing the new California pot laws behind the weeds (pun).

Scenic drive ... 😲

This photo was taken on a scenic drive through Kolob Canyons. The lighting was not perfect, but what a view. Kolob Cayons is in the the north-west portion of Zion National Park

As you leave the visitors center, you take this winding road, ascending the mountain terrain. As you come around an early bend in the road, you see this view. It is jaw dropping stunning. I can’t express the size and beauty of the view. The map shows the dive from the visitors center to the overlook area.

A slap of rock, a road, and a river

Teresa captured this photo of the Virgin River. This is but a small span of the 160 miles the river winds through Utah, Arizona and Nevada.

The Virgin River is a tributary of the Colorado River. It does not look like much but what does this look like from space?

I don’t know, but the view to the right is the gorge from 20,000 feet. You can pick out the river, carving it’s way through the rock. Kind of amazing. (Source: Wikipedia)
