A dry creek and a monument

So what do you do when the Creek is dry? You build a monument, or course.  It was really hot and dry. Little pools of water dotted the otherwise dry earth. 

We didn’t see much wildlife, but in this small pool of water, I found this crayfish (crawdad). We danced for a while .. I would move and try to get it to come out and play. The dance continued for some time, and then I decided it was time to move on. I did mange to get this photo.

A beautiful day for a drive ...

I have spend most of the past two weeks indoors. My recover is going well, but I needed some time outdoors. Yesterday, we decided to take a drive ... no specific destination, but time out of the house. This picture is the result of our drive ... it was a beautiful day for a drive. 

It’s especially hard to be creative when you are stuck indoors. Actually it’s difficult to be creative when you are stuck period. The feeling of being in a rut can take many forms, but constraining your creativity is usually the outcome. Go for a drive, and see the world from a different perspective. That can take many different forms, but it’s healthy, invigorating, and can change your outlook.

It taste like chicken

Have you ever had turtle soup? I have, and I swear it taste like chicken. These turtles don’t seem the least concerned .. so let’s move on.

Mums ... the story continues

Chrysanthemum morifolium

Mums are beautiful and the brilliant colors are so varied. I saw these at the store a few weeks back, and picked them up for the color and the beauty. The flowers only lasted a few weeks, but the plant lives on to bloom another day. Indeed, the story continues. 

I guess that is how I feel about this recent battle with prostate cancer. It slowed me down for a few weeks, but I still have much to accomplish. I will be back at it in the new year, and feel excited about the future.
