Friday, the sunset and prespecive

FullSizeRender.jpg

What better way to need the work week with a sunset photo. I shared a photo Teresa took of this year at sunset earlier this week. It’s amazing how different a photo can be when you just change the perspective.

I received good news from my doctor this week. My PSA levels are undectable, which is a good indicator. Going into the test, I was so worried about cancer coming back. While this does not mean that it will not come back someday, this is great news. My prespective on life has change so much since I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, followed by successful surgery. Think about it: So much of life is about prespecive!

Have an amazing weekend.

And your color is ..

I love this photo of this blue flower. I took this picture on a hot summer day. The temperature outside as I type this is about 19°F.  Winter will come and go, but true friendships last year around.

On another topic: The color used to represent prostate cancer is light blue. Breast cancer is pink. What really matters is how many life’s we can save.

I wrote a long post about my experience with prostate cancer. You can read it here. I didn’t write it to talk about my story, but to help someone struggling with a new diagnosis of cancer. We can beat cancer together.

Have a great day!

The miracle of healing

FullSizeRender.jpg

I am one week post a radical prostatectomy. My surgery was the day before Thanksgiving, 2017. My body is cancer free, and is healing.

Surviving cancer is not all physical. Attitude, mindset .. the mental stuff really matters. Not long after I was diagnosed, I had a conversation with someone that left me so deflated. There is no need to waste energy on that type of influence.

I am healing from the cancer, and healing from the surgery. The bodies ability to heal and renew is amazing. Perhaps healing is not so much about the physical process we call healing, and more about the mental healing that needs to occur.

I like this quote:

"Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn't you - all of the expectations, all of the beliefs - and becoming who you are." ~ Rachel Naomi Remen

Enjoy the day!
