Sunrise

I posted this one in instagram a couple days ago .. but I love it so much I had to post it here. I took this just after sunrise while on a photo walk. The sun made this photo ...

Sunrise

Sunrise over a lake. I enjoy the fresh air and a view of a sunrise. Nature even provided some extra cast for the new day. And so it begins .. again. It does seem like the geese are following me around.

The colors of sunrise

I photographed the sunrise yesterday (March 19). While these photos were not taken from the same exact location, it was the same sunrise, over a 20 to 30 minute period. I was trying to find the best spot to photograph the sunrise. Once I was able to review the photos, I was amazed at the color shifts. Any one of these shots would be a great photo to frame, but as a set, they are extra stunning. Enjoy, I did (other than it was darn cold out).

I took the 1st two on a country road in the middle of nowhere. I just stopped, and shot them out the window. I captured a bird in the shot above, but focus was not on her.

This shot was taken from Garbry Big Woods. I don’t like capturing utility poles / wires in my photos .. drives me crazy. In this case, I wanted to capture the trees. I may do some edits and remove the poles:).

Another side road near Big Woods. The sun was out, and the clouds were clearing. Again, the colors are so different.

Layers of clouds

FullSizeRender.jpg

I love how the clouds are slightly transparent, and look like they are layered in the sky. This is such a beautiful sunrise. I took this from my car while I was stopped in the middle of the road. It was fairly early in the morning, it was a weekend, and there were no other cars in sight .. and this was the outcome. Cheers.

A sunrise surprise

FullSizeRender.jpg

This sunrise photo is one of my favorites. It was early on a fall morning and I had decided to try to capture a few photos of the sunrise. As I was driving on a narrow country road, I had already taken several beautiful photos, and was about to head home. At that instance, I saw this view out the corner of my eye. I hit the breaks, backed up a few feet, and this is what I saw.

When you photograph a wedding or take portraits, you need to spend a great deal of time planning. Lighting, posing .. it’s more like conducting an orchestra.

I love the moment when a shot ‘happens’ and the outcomes is a surprise. You see the image with your eyes, then through the camera ... at some point, you feel the shot. The results are not always what you expect. When you are dealing with nature and landscapes, you can’t plan every detail.

That is what excites me about the next few days ... photos to follow soon!
