A summer or a winter hike?

This is the falls at Ricks Creek. We have hiked there before, but it was about 85ºF, and there was no snow. My son, Tim, swears it was an easier hike with all the now. I can’t see how.

I didn’t use any long exposure trips on these photos .. just a couple shots of the very cold water, and the beautiful rocks. If you look close, there is a drop of water on my lens. 😳

In the flow

I love long exposure photography. When I take LE photos on my DLSL, it takes a while to setup and capture a great image. This photo was taken with my iPhone using the ‘Live Photo” feature. The output of that is a long exposure photo to looks great. It’s expecially effective with fast moving water, like this shot.

Teresa took this photo at at Eastwood MetroPark. It was a warm fall day, and the ducks and waterfowl were very active. Most of the people there were fishing .. we were photographing. Life is good!

The inquisitive mind

FullSizeRender.jpg

This grey catbirds looks so curious. She reminds of the curiosity of a young child. When we are young, we are so open to new ideas, and change. As we get older, we tend to be less willing to change .. to has the ask questions that make us uncomfortable. Curiosity expands the mind!

I listened to the Akimbo podcast by Seth Godin. In a recent eposide, Seth takes about education. He specifically discussed issues with our education system in the US. I’m not going to dive into details, but recommend you listen to this when you have time. Here is the link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/akimbo-a-podcast-from-seth-godin/id1345042626?mt=2

What about you and me? I believe that individuals can cultivate a curious mind. This is not just for the young! Even someone in their ‘gold years’ can do things to help develop curiousity. Try do eat different foods, read broad opinions, listen to all kinds of people and ideas. This does not mean you will agree with everyone your read or hear, but it will broaden your base.

Have a great day!
