More Red Heads ... 🥶

Just before I saw this Red-bellied Woodpecker, I saw a couple Hairy Woodpeckers. Wait, maybe that was a pair of Downy Woodpeckers. Sadly, I didn’t get a photo, and I may never know.

A cold morning hike

Teresa and I took an early morning hike at Maple Ridge Reserve. It was cold, but the sky was clear and the air was crisp. We managed to see several deer and a few woodpeckers. We made this video of our hike:

Pileated what?

We saw this Pileated Woodpecker last week on the same day that we saw so many other woodpeckers. I had a hard time getting a good photo because of where he was hiding. Truly one of the most amazing woodpeckers, mostly because of his crown.

Jumpy woodpecker

The woodpeckers have been very active for the last two or three weeks. They have also been very hard to photography. This one was over the Miami River. We saw more, but only managed to get this photo. More woodpecker photos to come.

Two bluebirds singing...

I was surpried to see these Eastern Bluebirds. I love the color of this beautiful bird. I was surprised that they have not migrated south, but when I looked it up, it says they don't all migrate. In all, I saw three males and one female.
